amanda romualdo

Amanda Romualdo helps keep things running behind the scenes at Salt Lake Capoeira & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu including writing grants, managing the social media accounts, coordinating workshops and performances, and seeking out business opportunities and projects. She and Jamaika married in 2002, a few years after meeting each other through her sister who was Jamaika’s English as a Second Language teacher.

While Amanda doesn’t practice capoeira or jiu jitsu, she has a passion for Afro-Brazilian culture and art forms, and has had the privilege of spending time in Bahia for the past 20+ years. Besides her family and friends, her top loves are traveling, arts and culture, and the outdoors. She has explored over 60 countries, volunteers as an usher for Salt Lake County Performing Arts, and enjoys hiking in Salt Lake City’s Wasatch mountains. In her 9–5 life, she’s a full-time copywriter for an arts and craft company, with a degree in English and Master’s in Education.
